Code of Conduct
All participants, co-creators, speakers, partners and volunteers at Techfestival are required to agree with the following code of conduct. Together with the 100+ co-creators, who make Techfestival happen, we will enforce this code throughout the festival.
Let us be decent human beings and treat each other with respect and care.
Techfestival is dedicated to providing a harassment-free festival experience for everyone, regardless of gender, gender identity and expression, age, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, body size, race, ethnicity, religion (or lack thereof), or technology choices. Sexual language, imagery and nudity are not appropriate for any Techfestival event, including talks, workshops, parties, and other online media.
We do not tolerate harassment of participants in any form. Anybody who violates these rules may be expelled from Techfestival without a refund at the discretion of the organizers.
Harassment includes offensive verbal comments related to gender, gender identity and expression, age, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, body size, race, ethnicity, religion, technology choices, sexual images in public spaces, deliberate intimidation, stalking, following, harassing photography or recording, sustained disruption of talks or other events, inappropriate physical contact, and unwelcome sexual attention. Anybody who is asked to stop any harassing behavior is expected to comply immediately.
If you are being harassed, notice that someone else is being harassed, or have any other concerns, please contact a member of the Techfestival staff immediately. Techfestival staff can be identified by their branded clothing and black (core team) or white/greay (volunteers) wristbands. Techfestival staff will be happy to help participants contact security or local law enforcement, provide escorts, or otherwise assist those experiencing harassment to feel safe for the duration of the festival. We expect everyone to follow these rules at Techfestival, including all co-created events.
Techfestival is an open city festival with dozens of venues and partners. We trust and expect everybody to be mindful of the festival area, the environment and our neighbours. Some areas and venues at Techfestival are restricted for organizational and security reasons, and access depends on wristbands. Everybody is expected to follow instructions from Techfestival staff at all times and respect closed doors. Techfestival staff can be identified by their branded clothing and black (core team) or green (volunteers) wristbands.
